Stock Markets are crashing right NOW!!! | |
W. W. Raupp User ID: 27619 India 05/22/2006 09:34 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You know why this isn't a crash? Because it happens in phases, and while there is a small degree of 'panic', there's nothing out of the ordinary that can be defined as a crash. Mind, all these losses (except for Bombay and the Middle East) are well below the 5% threshold. And even if a market falls by 5%, it still isn't a crash. To shape the world is to become immortal |

Euro's up, inflation fear is everywhere and furthermore, investors fear that the dollar might start a serious decline in the coming weeks/months/years. It's fear for realistic things that aren't set up by 'evil men in cubicles'. To shape the world is to become immortal |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 74711 United States 05/22/2006 10:42 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | NYSE in $21bn Euronext merger bid Euronext shareholders will meet on Tuesday to discuss the firm's fate The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) has unveiled plans to merge with the pan-European Euronext exchange. The proposed move would create a transatlantic stock market giant worth $21bn (16bn euros; £11bn). If successful, the merger bid would trump rival plans by Germany's Deutsche Boerse for a tie-up with Euronext. Competition between exchanges has been increasing, and analysts are predicting more mergers as the companies look to cut costs and boost client numbers. Earlier this year, Euronext called off its attempts to buy the London Stock Exchange after US firm Nasdaq increased its stake. Since then, Nasdaq has continued to build its holding, and said on Friday it now had now topped 25%. [link to news.bbc.co.uk] |

It usually but not always influences some other markets. India has had a lot of hot money and also money from people who never had done it before. It's not unusual. In terms of our markets here---- we have had 8 days of correction. People are looking to see if we can hold here and get a bit of a bounce. Nothing unusual there either. This is all part of market behaviour.>> |
W. W. Raupp User ID: 27619 India 05/22/2006 11:01 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Johnny, several months ago many of GLp and including you were posting in threads about 'the bottom falling out of the markets' and saying that the end for the fiat-based economy is near, etc. Well, nothing happaned in the direct aftermath of that correction and it is most likely that this will not escalate unless the dollar starts taking heavy hits or inflation is beginning to show its ugly head more clearly. Hunter User ID: 96563 Germany 05/22/2006 11:30 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | AC #54534 wrote Did you know that stock market in Iran has gone up 80% since march. It has had the strongest growth in the world since 2 years ago. It is inflating so fast that the government has put a stop on the market going further up in fear that it might crash. A lot of you consider Iran to be a 3rd world country and yet Iran is very cleverly sneaking through the back door to become one of the biggest and strongest. Perhaps that is why the West is so concerned with Iran and not the nuke issue. here is a snip Iran blocks share price gains The stock exchange is often full of day traders The Tehran Stock Exchange has taken steps to try to halt an explosive rally in share prices amid fears the market could be headed for a crash The head of Iran's stock market sent a statement to brokers forbidding share price increases for a two-week period. Iran's stock market has been one of the best performers in the world this year, gaining nearly 80% since the start of the financial year in March. The country's main share index has risen by 11% in the past week alone. But there are already concerns that the rally is unsustainable, and that the country's investors could end up being badly burnt. [link to news.bbc.co.uk] This is absolute BS. Look at the Timestamp from this BBC article. It's 6 August, 2003. So now look at a Chart for TEPIX, which is the index for Tehran Stock Exchange: [link to bigcharts.marketwatch.com] Who are those guys who always spread disinformation about Iran. Why do they do this here on GLP so often. Do not believe anything what is posted here about Iran! Confirm yourself! |
