Why can't I prove the earth is round?

If not, how could there be seasons, longer days and shorter days in different hemispheres? How can the extreme northern and southern ends have close to 24 hour days and nights?

I'm not questioning if the sun moon planets are moving. My questions begin when trying to find a clear image or video of the earth from space that isn't CGI or taken with a fish eye lense.

Go stand on a cliff with high powered binoculars and the marine traffic app, you'll soon see the curvature of the earth.

I live by the beach and my apartment is about 70ft above sea level. If I look to the horizon I can see with my binoculars large ships travelling in the shipping lanes but if I stand on the beach I can't see them. By the same token I can see ships gradually come into view as they travel at a slight angle to my position so the masts come into view first, then the bridge and then the superstructure and sometimes I can hardly see the ship at all. I can look on marine traffic, find the ships position and then through the binoculars I'll see a mast sticking up over the horizon and nothing more.

In addition when they are at anchor I can for example see a ship say for example 9nm away from my apartment window, but when I go down the the beach I won't be able to see the whole thing, part of the superstructure will be obscured by the curvature to the earth.

The picture, which has come from a camera on board the Deep Space Climate Observatory (DSCOVR), is the first picture of the whole Earth that has been seen since 1972. All of the pictures since then have been produced by stitching together different pictures into a full image of the globe.

Even if the Earth were perfectly flat and went on forever, the horizon would still be exactly level: 180° of sky and 180° of ground (instead of the paltry 179.92° of ground we have). The only difference between a finite flat Earth and an infinite flat Earth is that no matter how tall you are on an infinite flat Earth, the horizon always stays in the same place.

The thing is...

It's actually quite easy to prove the earth is spherical, and it doesn't require complicated equipment or advanced mathematics. About 3,000 year ago people made the same, simple observations and concluded the earth was round. We've understood this to be a fact ever since, and anybody who wants to can check for themselves.

The problem now is that the people who believe in a flat earth are unwilling to examine the evidence, and even more unwilling to try to make the same observations - because they know it would contradict their belief. And belief is all they have...

(There's also the problem that probably 99% of those claiming to believe in a flat earth are actually trolls, just trying to wind up everyone else.)

Then prove it.

Also the article states "The new picture is a composite, of three separate images, but each of those images showed the whole planet." Again its not a real picture but a composite of what they claim are real pictures.

I received the same response when I had a question about gravity. I didn't say that it didn't exist, I was looking for a clarification. People get so angry but it ties in with the flat earth theory. How can gravity be strong enough to hold the oceans in place yet allow a butterfly to flutter about? I am not an idiot for asking this question! I don't know if the earth is round or not. My question is how gravity fit's into either position. Op, ask your questions and continue your search for knowledge. Others may know all of the answers to your questions. Keep asking and keep wondering.
