It is slavery. Many people won't be able to simply afford the property taxes on their home after retirement.

Once a home is owned or paid off free and clear, the owner should not have to pay a property tax, period.

It must be nice to live off the fat of others.

You just own the junk on top of that land, the earth underneath is worth more than all the money you will make in a lifetime.

Taxation = theft. Pure and simple. If you pay tax on anything you supposedly purchased, you have not purchased it at all. Imagine you paid ongoing tax on everything you purchased? Criminal isn't it?

I believe land tax in the USA was instigated by the founding fathers sometime in the late 18th century. I wouldn't blame Jews for this. As our Jewish friend said above, they pay it too!

I am told, China is the same shit, different wrapper: no one is allowed to own property in China. The govt. will lease the property to you and you can build on it, but you can't own the land.

WTF, all people are doing is paying rent. You own nothing and of course, you don't pay $10 dollars of property tax, the state apparattus will take it all and when they sell it for a huge profit, you get nothing back.

I paid off my property a long, long time ago and I pay taxes because I don't live in complete isolation, I live in a community. They've been there for me when I needed them and when I didn't because people pay for the services through the property tax.
