Calling all UFO tards - My personal experience.

Hello, GLP. Long time AC tard here, now a new member tard. I'd like to get your thoughts on an experience I had with UFOs. Kind of a long story.

TL:DR version - I saw something and I don't know what it was.

So anyway, it was a humid summer night in 2013. I (sober) stepped outside and sat down in a lawn chair. Casually, I looked up at the stars like anyone would. I soon noticed what appeared to be an orange star, moving slowly from left to right across the sky. I judged it to be at the approximate height a helicopter would fly.

Suddenly, this object stopped midair and stayed perfectly still. There was no noise. There were no flashing aviation lights. Curious, I went inside the house to get my roommate and ask his opinion. Now, he is a computer engineer/programmer, studied Physics, is a devout atheist, and by all accounts is a very scientific person who will attempt to explain everything logically. He came outside in time to see the object. Once again, it began moving and continued in the same direction until it was out of sight.

At first, he was puzzled. After several minutes, he brushed it off and said it could be space debris or something. He went back inside. Not even a minute later, 2-3 more of these orange lights come into view, flying in the same direction (West) at various heights. I call him back out, and we both watch for a few minutes.

Presumably to get a better view, my roommate then goes into the backyard and I follow him. As we are standing there looking up and around, something happened that I'll never forget. Another 2-3 of these orange star-like objects come into view and fly directly above us at about the height of a tree or 2-story house. It is difficult to convey how shocking and unexpected this experience actually was. My first thoughts were, "Are these angelic beings? Like, is this the Rapture or something?" Durr..

I saw these objects up close, but the best way I can describe them is that they appeared like bright glowing miniature stars. Or, like the lit end of a sparkler without the constant flashing. Just a steady glow hovering over us, moving slower than I can run. All this while maintaining a constant altitude and speed and making no noise. I'm quite positive these objects weren't space debris or chinese lanterns, drones, etc.

My roommate and I were very perplexed and, admittedly, a bit disturbed by the experience. Months and years later, I mention it and he does not even want to talk much about it. I remember reading on GLP about someone who had a similar experience. Your insights are appreciated - thanks!
