By this time next year, it's entirely likely the EU might not even exist. Trump has even hinted at pulling America out of the United Nations if necessary. This is a similar trend to the pre-WW2 League of Nations walk-out, isn't it?

The economy is tanking. Trade is slowing down. Nations are toying with protectionism. Ultra-nationalists are sweeping to power. Borders are closing. Walls are going up. Military expenditure is going through the roof. Mass surveillance is underway. Scapegoats are being targeted. All that's missing is The Event. The final Catalyst.
