They sad I have Covid plus either bronchitis or pneumonia. Put me on a week quarantine and told me to come back again tomorrow for some chest X-rays. Quoting: Snuffielover Blugh. Feeling like absolute shiesse now. Could use your warmest of wishes and tips on how to minimize the AB damage that will inevitably happen as they put me on co-amoxiclav. Funny how the local Russian doctor lady noted my lower SpO2 levels and remarked that it's due to the mandatory mask I was wearing. She also noted that she's been working since the start of the outbreak and according to her 'Zinc' and 'Quercetin' has never been effective for Corvid. Funny enough 600mg of Acetylcystein daily though as well as vitamins C and D in 'large doses' are okay. Prayers said for you to get well quickly ! Praise God from Whom all Blessings flow !!! |

Doctors are really great for traumatic injuries, but they often suck at actual illness. Hope you feel better soon! Louis in Richmond That is my arm now; broken for 7 months User ID: 73417851 United States 03/11/2024 04:32 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have read the past two pages and have all here in my prayers. I'm pleased to read familiar names. Bastetcat sent me a photo of her and her husband snuggling; they are a beautiful couple! I won't make any hollow apologies for my lengthy absence. I just don't feel up to posting or even reading when I am not well. My being forced into early retirement eroded much of my confidence and self-esteem despite knowing I am not my job nor does it define my value as a person. A couple of members have kept in contact with me via text so I promised them I would make an appearance to provide a personal update. Mrs. went with me the Friday afternoon of March first, to a branch clinic, located in the next county from us, of the main hospital in downtown Richmond as she didn't feel well and was unable to even keep water from coming back up. There they ran a battery of tests including blood work, x-rays, CT scans, and an MRI. All while keeping her on oxygen, an IV, a heart monitor, and continuous blood pressure monitoring. The tests revealed she was suffering from an Intussusception. A condition in which one segment of intestine "telescopes" inside of another, causing an intestinal obstruction (blockage). The obstruction can cause swelling and inflammation that can lead to intestinal injury. Intussusception is a serious medical condition which left untreated can cause death in one to two days. She was on day one and one-half of the condition. The doctor stated she was within a few hours of death. The complete blockage caused a massive internal infection which they began treating with antibiotics they added to the IV they had already placed in her. After conferring with another doctor at the main hospital, she was taken to it in Richmond by an advanced life support EMS squad. She asked I go home since I could not ride in the squad and I had no current skills of driving in dense city traffic. So I went home to feed the cats and wait. I had not driven since the first week of September. And it was now dark and raining heavily. A surgical team was assembled who performed surgery on her at 10:00 PM Friday night where her abdomen was opened and four inches of her small intestine was removed and the ends sutured back together. She now has an incision healing in her lower front with medical staples holding her insides in. The hospital transported her back to our home Tuesday so I would not need to risk driving in city traffic after so many months without having driven. I am now her caregiver at home while previously she was mine. Now for me: While feeding our semi-feral mamma kitty and her one kitten at 6:00 AM in mid September, I went out to our deck to feed them via the kitchen door whose screen door had previously been propped open by contractors working in our home. My cat followed me out the door and mamma kitty puffed up twice her size and proceeded to chase him through every room in the house. I quickly turned to follow her inside to rescue my cat and take mamma back outside. That's when I slipped on the morning dew on the deck and fell face down as I extended my arms to brace against the fall. That fall fractured my right humerus, the bone between my elbow and shoulder. Being right-handed I was unable to lift myself from the porch, nor could Mrs. being much smaller than I. So there I lay on a wet deck in my underwear until the county EMS arrived to pick me up and transport me to the ER at the medical center. Never have I experienced such pain. The ER doctor had to administer both morphine and ketamine to me so a splint could be placed on my arm prior to my admission to the hospital. I then spent the next week there until an Orthopedic Surgeon saw me and placed my arm in a multi-part brace and told me that upper arm fractures cannot be placed in a cast. Prior to my injury I was scheduled to have leg surgery to correct a circulatory issue which was causing my legs and feet to swell. The surgery was put off until February and by then my legs were twice their size and walking was all but impossible for me. The surgery was performed and now my legs are almost their normal size, though incredibly painful and I have resumed walking with difficulty. As for my broken arm? I removed the brace so I could drive home, to the grocery, pharmacy and doctor appointments as needed. My Orthopedic Surgeon took this picture of my arm Friday, seven months after I broke it. I've been going around like this for a week without the brace. Apparently I have a high pain threshold. He has ordered a bone stimulator I will need to wear to encourage bone healing. My humerus is now holding together by a tiny filament of bone from each end and my arm muscles in contraction around it are holding it in place and minimizing bone motion. OUCH!! Thank you all for your prayers for each other and Mrs. and me. Oh, here's that arm picture from Friday.
