Maybe, its about a personal sense of power or lack of. I think self change is hard for some people. Maybe easier due to habit to project on someone else rather than examine the source. I don't know because I think in the long run it's better work to on yourself regardless since it defines what you can also let in.
HABIT!...THE HUMAN PREDICTAMENT... CONDITIONING...
Thank you for your thoughts on the question, seems like a good answer!

You are so welcome!
When we innerstand that most people are functioning from a "fixed condition" perception, we learn to bend differently when we encounter them.
"Life is a process, not a fixed condition. And because of that, life can not be managed but must be allowed to function."
Most people, almost six billion plus, live life based on a fixed condition. They live on Life based on what they have been condtioned to "beLIEve." Can't be mad at them, because we would only be getting mad with ourselves. They are an extension of us since we are all interconnected.

My dog plays head games with me!
Just kidding. It's silly to even think that my dog would play head games. Therefore, it seems to be 'human' condition, doesn't it. With great power, comes great responsibility.
With conscious SELF-awareness the trick is not to get lost in Ego, but to bask in the Heart. Head games would then disappear.
This ain't life folks!...This place is DEATH...When will more get that?...I guess when the truth is thrust upon them horribly in these last years now...sadly..

Thank you all for your thoughts, I guess that I am trying to understand something that has bothered me my whole life. I've tried to understand this type of behaviour, and it eludes me because I don't think this way! Thanks for sharing!

You're on point: SELF-awareness. As I innerstand it, awareness and ego can not co-exist. We can take our pick anytime... When we choose awareness the world becomes a different place, because we are able to vision beyond the head games. And whenever we become frustrated over any given situtation, it's usually our ego that's playing in our own head...
If people really and truly realized how conditioned we are, there would probably be a mass suicide occurring on this planet. I don't feel Self-awareness is something that everyone is ready to acknowledge, accept and embrace.

Yep...planet earth is the universal cemetary, graveyard or whatever we choose to label it. And we're all here together to Awaken to who we Really ARE. And correct, this isn't real after all. Just "REMEMBER WHO YOU REALLY ARE"!!! And in doing so, "REST IN THE ALL ABIDING CALMNESS OF SELF."
Now that's the short-cut, when you choose to BE direct. The long way is what you perceiveable see occuring throughout the world. STAY FOCUSED!!!

Hmmm....
Are you equating Ego with "our programming/brainwashing", or what I think of as the sub-conscious mind? Could be. I'll have to ponder that one, although I think of the sub-conscious mind as being neutral or that faculty which receives input and does not judge, but puts out what was commanded of it. The Ego, to me is very judgmental while it is always in protective mode and often is self-centered.
Let me ask you this....in your statement, "And whenever we become frustrated over any given situtation, it's usually our ego that's playing in our own head..."
Who is the "our" in your above quoted statement...or more importantly, who is the "I" who directs and decides and/or gets played with? In other words, who is the "I" who is either aware or not aware?

"I don't feel Self-awareness is something that everyone is ready to acknowledge, accept and embrace."
This is fine sentence, because it hits the heart of the problem. Once one's Ego has been destroyed, it leaves a vacuum that allows self-awareness to enter, and permeate one's being. Then, and only then can one begin the long work of self discovery, and the search thru the realms of mankind, the projections that everyone perceives as normal, just, and right. The prevailing climate of the societies determines what is acceptable behaviour at any given point in the line, allowing unaware beings to play their games as part of the norm, ie: "everyone does it, therefore it must be acceptable". Only when a change in perception comes, does an individual start to see them-self for what they truly are, that being in most cases a projection of what society wants them to be. Any deviant from this societal projection is deemed, weird, demonic, pagan, loser, and the list of adjectives could go on to infinity.
We all really are one, in that hive mentality, that is projected by the religions, governments, and players in power. Having stepped out of this realm, and into another consciousness, this type of behaviour is no longer acceptable to me personally. Their is too much pain being inflicted on others by this mentality!

Okay, I'll concede. My doggie seems to be conniving sometimes, especially if I don't pay enough attention to him. It may be a low-level head-game, but you are right, it is a head-game nonetheless. LOL

Let your River Rambling flow... You express it as you know and live it... There's nothing off-course about that.
However, it's the "perspective" that changes, because "perception" is the means that most use to get to the end. I, meaning "I Am That I AM" fully innerstand the feeling of being exiled from societal's so-called norms. However, we are evolving and not according to darwinism. As the EGO (Everybody's Got One) begins to dissolve then "neutrality" stands as the great divider to the play of duality which is limitation within itself. Self-awareness reveals the Freedom/Limitation game...and the "Inner Shift Happens"....get what I mean?

Stimulating Questions! And questions only require more questions...which is another means for the ego to feed it's insatiable appetite by way of comparison, judgement and all the other methods that questions Self.(By no means is that directed at you.) However, the "I" spoken of is the "I Am That I AM" nothing more; nothing less. Consciousness is ALL there IS... Life IS EX-perience and EX-pression of Consciousness.

Go read some material on psychopaths - the nice name is sociopaths. You will realize that there are some people on this planet whose whole focus in life is manipulating others.
Some do it for fun and to feel superior, others get good enough at it they can become political leaders, corporation CEO's, mob bosses, etc. - the ones who manipulate and destroy millions of people's lives everyday because they can.
They get off on and are addicted to the power of killing and destroying.

Good point! There seem to be more and more of these sociopaths who have no conscience. There biggest claim to fame is that they can mimic the feelings of others and they get real good at conning and manipulation. They have "charisma" but it's all faked.
Your suggestion to read up on them is a good idea. There are tell-tale signs. Once you've figured it out that they are narcissistic sociopaths, run like heck. There's no changing them. EVER. It's like they have no soul. For sure they are amoral. (Lacking any kind of moral compass). Which is why our country is in deep doodoo. Sigh...
