he was in a crowd of ridiculously hardcore republicans, and he said many things defending his opponent, even to the chagrin of his followers. That's what it takes. Standing for what you believe in and occasionally going against the grain. That was very classy of him. Bush probably would have pulled staged swastika flags to drape down around the perimeter 20 minutes into it.

maybe it was a set up... some actors in audience read the 'angry' script, and Mccain 'defended' the opponent to appear 'not angry' and 'respectful'.....to prove the opposite of what the MSM says about him...
