Defaulting on debt due to a failing dubai economy.. they have had a lot of issues in dubai lately.

construction stopped in mid air on many high rise projects .So foreign construction workers engineers etc departed the region and left keys in the car to be repocessed. .. building over there has nearly ceased in these awful times.. the exodus of workers started months ago .when the e global economic collapse finnaly hit .

many many people are getting out of Dubai.
jobs dried up, bills piled up. They have debtor prison here, so if you can't pay your bills you get free room and board until your family/friends cough up your payments.

So, people in a tight squeeze decide to pack up and bug out while they can- before the cops come knocking.
FYI, to see the future one only has to look at school enrollments for expat kids next year. Off by a very large amount. In years past you went on a waiting list to get your child into the school of choice...thats not a problem now.
