and what about when you come over from the GWB. The bridge used to cost a lot, a couple decades ago. Last I was there it was like 5 bucks round trip. I'm sure it has to be at least $10 by now. Does that mean you have to pay for the bridge and then another $15?

If you have EZpass it's 11.75 over the GWB. Without EZpass it's $15. So you pay for the bridge and then another $15. And don't forget about parking.

I used to ride my ebike across the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges. The cold felt crossing those bridges during the winters is unbearable. By the time I made it over the bridges, my fingers were frostbitten.

Worked there for over 30 years and couldn’t wait to leave. Finally was able to get the hell out! Haven’t looked back! Only thing I miss is the food and the busy city vibe sometimes, the anonymity of being in a big city. Out in Rural U.S. now and love it, wish the food was better and the women were prettier,etc. Lol!

Even if I had multi millions I wouldn’t live in NYC, too expensive, too crowded, dirty, cops looking to ticket you everywhere, red light cameras, ez-pass, speed/Radar cameras, no where to park, recent congestion pricing(extra $15/Day), bike lanes no one hardly uses! Subways are a mess and unsafe! People were always rushed, rude and thought very highly of themselves, especially the women Gold-Diggers!

Was once a cool city, damn shame! The architecture, engineering and infrastructure of a big city is always to be marvelled at due to it’s scale and size I suppose! That is a big draw! I guess everything dies eventually. R.i.p. NYC!

A cop gave me a triplicate of tickets for riding my ebike through a steady red light. He purposely folded the tickets before handing them to me so that I wouldn't notice the error while I was in his presence.

Now I have to fight three same ass tickets in December! What are the chances I may lose, even considering the fact there is no rhyme or reason citing me thrice for the same offense in one traffic infraction event??!!! In NYC, very HIGH!!!

If there is a definite error with the tickets you should be able to get them dismissed. He probalbly purposely wrote the tickets wrong to get credit for writing 3 tickets knowing you would get them dismissed. Not all the cops are J-offs, lol. Good luck!

There is a monthly quota for tickets that they never admit too! We had a saying in NYC that would go: “ It must be the End of the Month!” Meaning the cops had to get their ticket quotas up before the first of the following month! That’s why the decent cops would make a mistake on purpose sometimes.

i tried on clerical grounds. I sent them copies of the tickets requesting that they fix the error and let the correct ONE stand. They wrote me back that I still had to go before the court and argue my case against all three LMFAO!!! My mother said just pay them. I refuse to just on principle!

Yes, it sounds about right. They make you lose a day of work to go in person to fight it! A-lot of people just pay them because the know traffic court is a “Kangaroo-Court!”( meaning it’s a joke or a circus).

I guess it depends not only on principle but how much the 3 tickets add up to versus a day of pay? Sometimes the judges are turds also!

Wow! That’s a crazy amount! I would go in person for that much also. If the judge isn’t a turd he will probably just gig you for the one correct one imho !?

I had one traffic cop give me a ticket while I was in my car with it running with hazard lights on in a “No-Standing” for $150. He just walked up and printed it without even speaking to me!

Maybe if there is less traffic people will ride more bikes.

No f-ing way I'd ride a bike in NYC. If that is the result of this, then ambulance, police, and ER incidents will increase exponentially.

Alot of the bikers don’t follow the rules of the road. No helmets, riding on sidewalks(arrest-able in NYC), don’t stop for red lights or yield to pedestrians, etc. i used to drive an 80K pound commercial truck all around NYC and almost crushed a couple of bikers for not yield and being in my blind spots! I saw a few accidents where the bikers ran into pedestrians and hurt them badly, the ebikes can get up to pretty fast speeds! I also saw police giving tickets to cyclists not yielding or stopping for red lights.

Bikes are great if the are careful and follow the rules.

Just make it no private cars then. Only public transportation.

but motorists pay taxes to maintain those roads. How are they on top of those taxes, taxing them even more? That does not sound fair.
