As for Crowley, I think some of the entities he invoked were benign overall but hostile to Crowley himself.

None of the entities in his main Enochian work resemble greys.

I suspect they were benign entities which had Crowley for breakfast.

I also suspect Aiwass, who gave Crowley the book of the law, was a joker.

To be clear I think "The Law" is one of the most evil things written, and Crowley was evil to take it at face value.

It is shown clearest in his second commentary, first quote is the passage of the Law and the second is Crowley's comment:
