There is some confusion if Crowley and Nueburg invoked Choronzon in an empty triangle, or if Crowley was in the triangle and became possesed by Choronzon.

As far as I can see nearly all the evidence points to an empty triangle, with the only hint it could have been crowley in the traingle being that Crowley said Choronzon did not succeeed in taking crowleys forum, which would have been absurd

One thing that seems strange to me is Choronzon's hostility to Nueburg. I internalize it so see that some of my trolling may have hurt people I did not intend to.

But I suspect Crowley's report on the take may have omitted much of Ch's hostility toward crowley itself because Crowley did not want to remember it, so his account make Ch seem more one sided toward Nueburg than was indeed the case.
